Readynas Ultra 2 - Mac Address became 00:00:00:00
Hello,
I stopped my nas for few days during holidays and when i restarted it i couldn't access it.
I finally managed to connected it, and i noticed that no correct ip was assign by my router to my nas. This is because the Eth0 has now a 00:00:00:00:00 mac address. I tried a os reinstall but it is still the same. I managed to force the mac address to his old mac address (using ssh and ifconfig) and the ip was assign successfully by my router. But if i reboot the nas the problem come back.
And I noticed too that since today i can only access my nas come from outside but not coming from the local network.
Does anybody has any ideas?

I m using radiator 4.2.27 - This is a weird issue.
Are you able to backup your data and do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) and restore your data from backup? - Not right now, Don't have enought space to backup everything...
When i plug the eth1 everything work fine except there is no access to internet.
I guess it is not possible to substitute eth0 with eth1? - When did you purchase this NAS?
It sounds possible that the NIC might be failing.
You could make changes to the sysconfig to make them permanent. - Good morning.
Thx for your answer. I purchased it almost 3 years now.
How is it possible to make the change permanently? I tried in the /etc/network/interfaces but this one seems to be rewrite by the system.

If you power down, remove your disks (label order) and put a spare disk (must not be from your array) in the NAS and do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) do you still have the issue using the spare disk? - Hello

If you were to also upgrade the firmware with the spare disk in place, then the NAS would attempt to apply that firmware upgrade to your original disks.
