ReadyNAS Ultra 2 - password reset email not working

I asked for an email to reset the password. My combo email/pass was correct. I got a confirmation message that the password reset email was sent. Password was indeed reset (as I can't access with factory admin/password convo anymore) BUT I never for the email (not in SPAM either). I know there's plenty posts on the topic but all of them, recommend an OS re-install which is a risky solution as it can lead to data loss if done incorrectly. I find this very unsatisfying. Anyone, here knows why these reset emails are not getting to the users, and anything we can do about it (other than obviously an OS reset)? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi pvieira

Even using a different computer? Last resort would be to perform an OS-Reinstall, this should not affect the data and only the settings will be reset but YES you are correct it should be done properly.

You can check the instructions here

    Regards

    Hi pvieira

    Welcome to the Community!

Have you tried using a different browser when requesting for the Email reset? Also try using the default password for OS 4. netgear1.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards

Thanks Marc. Unfortunately I've tried those and none works. Also tried other potential standard (factory) passwords and none worked either.

Yes: different computer, Mac and PC, Chrome, Safary, Firefox, IE. Tried them all in multiple combinations. None worked. It's really frustrating because judging by the number of threads in the forum, there's something clearly broken in the password reset process, and the only solution that seems to work is a OS-reinstall. Clearly seems like the email process may be the root cause it's the user who's having to fix the problem on his/her end. That's awful user experience.
