ReadyNAS Ultra 2 v4.2.19 - Hitachi Deskstar 4TB Support
I wonder if anybody else has tried the Hitachi Deskstar 4TB Internal drive in the ReadyNAS Ultra 2 with Firmware v4.2.19. I know it's not on the 'supported listed' as of today. When I insert the dri...

TeknoJnky,
The Factory Default did in fact work! Thanks! I guess I'll go buy a second drive now. :)
Here is what it shows now
RAID Configuration
Configuration: RAID Level 0, Single disk
Status: Not redundant. A disk failure will render this volume dead.
RAID Disks:
Ch 1 : Hitachi HDS5C4040ALE630 [3726 GB]
3721 GB allocated
This is for the Hitachi Deskstar 4TB 3.5" internal Mfr# 0S03359
For those of you that want to know how to get in to factory default mode, it's in the user manual. It's slightly different for each ReadyNAS model so the instructions below might or not work. (This will erase all your settings and data)
1. Power off your unit.
2. Using a straightened paper clip, press and hold the Reset button. (don't stop pressing until step 4)
3. Press the Power button to power on the unit.
4. Continue to press the Reset button until the status display screen shows a boot menu (or if not status screen - ie Ultra 2 - all the LED lights are on). Once you are at the boot menu, release the reset button
5. Now Press the Backup button to scroll through the boot mode options to get to the Factory Default. (for Ultra 2 it's when Disk 1 LED light is on)
6. When you get to the boot mode you want, press the reset button again to reset the unit
NOTE: This drive is still not on the 'supported' list so use with caution
