ReadyNAS214 not shutting down after firmware update
I just did a firmware update to 6.10.3 for a ReadyNAS214 and now when I power it down, the display indicates do_exit+4d8 and it doesn't turn off. My only option is to pull the power plug out, but th...

Hi BubbaB808,
As discussed over the private message, you may try turning On the Wake On LAN then turn it Off again if you encounter that LCD error when the NAS is shutting down.

The system crashed at that point, so it's the only option you have. Hopefully the system will boot sucessfully - please follow up either way.
FWIW, my own NAS (including an RN202) are all running 6.10.3, and upgraded successfully. Not sure what happened in your case, but it isn't typical.

Thanks, Stephen, for your advice. I am able to plug the power to the NAS and it does boot up. Is it possible to install the same firmware again?

Did it fail? Normally the firmware update is applied on the reboot.
But to answer your question, you can download the arm zip file from https://kb.netgear.com/000061727/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Software-Version-6-10-3, pull the binary image out of the zip, and then manually over-install it on the system->settings page of the NAS admin UI.
- BubbaB808May 12, 2020TutorThe firmware appeared to have installed correctly but just that it doesn’t power off. Do you think if I reinstalled the firmware that this issue could go away? Thanks.

Hi BubbaB808,
Can you download the NAS system logs then send it to me? You may upload it to a file-sharing site then send me the download link via private message.

John, not too sure on how to do that. Can you provide the location and steps for me to do this? Thanks.

He wants you to:
- Download the full log zip file from system->logs (using the download logs control on the right)
- Upload that log zip file to cloud storage (google drive, onedrive, dropbox, icloud, whatever), and get a shareable link to the zip
- send a private message (PM) to him using the envelope icon on the upper right of the forum page. Include the shareable link in the provide message.
