Recycle Bin not working
I have enabled the recycle bin on my shares, and the folder shows up in the file list. However, when I delete a test file from a folder in the same share, it does not go into the recycle bin - the bin remain empty. Is there something else I need to do?
Thanks,
Mark

- hungoverdrawnAspirantSame question from me. Any answer?
- andrewC1AspirantHi All,
Not sure if this is related to same problem you have. I noticed that when I created folders and then deleted them they did not go into Recycle Bin (which I setup previously).
I then noticed that if the folder I deleted was empty, nothing appeared in the recycle bin. It only appears when there are files in the folder. So check you are deleting a folder containing files when testing. Dont know why this happens.

Andrew. - ewokNETGEAR ExpertWhich version of the firmware are you using? Over which protocol are you doing the deletion (CIFS, FTP, HTTP)?
- dswarthoutAspirantDid anyone ever resolve this issue? I enabled the Recycle Bin as outlined in this thread and the folder appeared in the share but when I delete a file it simply disappears -- the bin remains empty.
- ewokNETGEAR ExpertPlease see my post above.
- jwilson7AspirantI have the same problem. Activated 'Enable Recycle Bin' in CIFS. I'm using the share as a network drive.
Do I need to re-boot the NAS? - ewokNETGEAR ExpertNo reboot is necessary. What are the exact steps used to reproduce the problem?
- mipyAspirantFirmware: RAIDiator 4.2.19
Protocl : CIFS
Hi All,
I have the same problem: activated 'Enable Recycle Bin' in CIFS for 3 shares, and it works only for 2 !
I tried to disabled and enabled it many times for my third share, I also tried to change size or delay, no changes, the files that I delete in this share do not go to the recycle bin.
For the two others shares, I just enabled Recycle Bin and it worked immediately.
What can I try ?
Regards,
Mipy - ewokNETGEAR ExpertDoes the share have a Recycle Bin folder?
- mipyAspirantHi ewok,
Yes it has a Recycle Bin folder. But this morning I did the following:
- disable the Recycle Bin option
- delete the Recycle Bin folder
- reboot the NAS
- Enable the Recycle Bin option
and now it works. Strange...
