Reinstalling OS to ReadyNAS 2100

Hi There,

Unfortunately, I don't have credentials for the above said device. Therfore, I was referring to; http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=30621 and finally I found http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24872/~/how-do-i-access-the-boot-menu-on-my-readynas-1500-%2F-2100%3F .

I've also manage to find a KB article explaining to use rawrite to write the downloaded RAIDiator firmware. Now how will I know when I proceed that it worked out??

quite confused to understand what's the process...

This is a 2100 (4-bay rackmount)? The KB article on kb.netgear.com you linked to explains what to do.

The article about rawrite is talking about boot recovery which is something quite different. Furthermore the rawrite instructions are for boot recovery for a different model to yours.

Boot Recovery is useful where the firmware on the internal flash is corrupt. Nothing you have said would suggest that is the case.

A firmware re-install re-installs the firmware from the flash over the top of the installation already on the disks and reset a few settings e.g. the admin password and some network settings.

    EDIT

My bad... I just read the part; OS reinstall. Reinstalls the firmware from the internal flash to the disks... so that should do the work, right?
