Replacing disks on NVX with previously used 3Tb model fails

Hello

I have a RNDX4210 NVX Business Edition running RAIDiator 4.2.27. Some time ago I replaced all four 3Tb disks (Seagate ST33000651AS) with 4Tb models (Seagate ST4000VN000). Because I plan to use the 4Tb disks in a RN316 that I recently bought, I tried to put back the 3Tb disks in the NVX NAS, in the same order as when I took them out. Now the NVX boots with errors (no network link) but it does find the right IP address. In Frontview, three of the four disks are reported as 'dead', and two of these disks are reported as the previous 4T models. Error messages: ' No volume exists...'  and ' The paths for the shares listed cannot be found...' I have not yet tried to factory reset.

Q: Is there any way to re-instate the NVX with the original 3Tb disks?

Thanks in advance,

Thank you for the quick reply! AFAIK a factory reset means that all data that was on the drives is lost, is that correct?

    Yes

No it isn't.  It is perhaps possible to force the RAID array to mount, but there likely would be file system corruption.

You need to do a factory reset.

You upgraded to 4 TB one disk at time, so the original 4x3TB array is no longer usable.

      Hi StephenB

Thank you for the quick reply! AFAIK a factory reset means that all data that was on the drives is lost, is that correct? I made a backup so it's no big deal, but it would be nice if I could still access the data on the 3Tb disks. Assuming that the disk information is stored somewhere in the OS, is there any way to do a FR without losing the data? I read somewhere that there was a 'SSH method' but I can't find where that was.

      Thanks again,
