Reset my ReadyNAS+ now have a local connectivity issue
Hi all,
I did a scorched earth reset of my ReadyNAS+ a couple of weeks ago as I had let the drive get too full and it would not display the admin console. I could still access it so I got everything backup up so no harm done.
Anyway, I've got everything set up and can access it from all but one of my boxes in the house. It's a Windows 7 Home Premium box. I can ping the ReadyNAS , RAIDar see's it, Windows Explorer sees the box, but trying to access it results in "Windows cannot access \\192.168.2.10" no matter how I try to access it.
This machine was successfully able to access the ReadyNAS before I reset it. Any idea what I have buggered up?
Thanks
Chris

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWas the NAS also using 192.168.2.10 before the reset?
- cdubeaAspirantYes it was. Would that make a difference?
I've tried flushing the DNS cache
I get the following
Error code:0x80070035
The network path was not found.
Again it's a Windows7 Home Premium box trying to connect to a ReadyNAS+ with Raidiator v4.1.13
Thanks
Chris - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserSo the NAS worked before with that PC, but it fails after a factory reset. The IP address has not changed.
Are the PC and the NAS in the same workgroup? Maybe also check that the PC classifies the network as "home". - cdubeaAspirant

Yes. The ReadyNAS is configured much as it was before. I'm having no issues connecting to it from another Win7 box, but it has a wired ethernet connection.
The PC and the NAS are in the same Workgroup as far as I can tell. Spelunking around the Admin panel on the ReadyNAS makes no mention of workgroup. The Win7 box with the issue classifies the network as home. The problem box does use wi-fi to connect to the router, but I can't see how that would make a difference. A quick check of the Buffalo wireless adapter reveals nothing untoward.
More info,
I deleted the access info from the Win7 credentials vault. Restarted the computer. Attempted to access the NAS box, it asked for credentials. I entered them and then get:
\\NASBOX is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. ...
Element not found.
I'm flummoxed on this one.
Thanks

On my box it is in:
Security -> Security Mode
but thanks anyway.
Chris - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserDoes it fall the same way if you enter \\192.168.2.10?
Are you trying NAS admin credentials? - vandermerweMasterYes in OS 4, perhaps I didn't see the model you had anywhere.

I was figuring from the cdubea's forum join date that this is an NV or an NV+vandermerwe wrote: Yes in OS 4, perhaps I didn't see the model you had anywhere.
though it would be helpful to know the model and the firmware version.
