Resetting to factory defaults
A newbie set of questions, apologies for that. I've managed to lock myself out of my Readynas Duo. I've forgottent the admin password and had the admit email account t set as my old work address. ...
The OS/firmware re-install: reinstalls the firmware and does some other things like reset 'admin' (Frontview) password and some network settings (i.e. get IP address via DHCP).
Data remains intact.
To do an OS Re-install on the Duo (v1):
1. Power down NAS unit
2. Press and hold reset button
3. Turn NAS on
4. Release reset button after about 5 seconds (first blink of disk LEDs).
