Restore from Time Machine using Lion

It appears as though my memory isn't what it used to be. I forgot there was a separate username/password for time machine access until I saw this article:

which triggered my memory. Username: ReadyNAS - I can now get beyond the OSStatus error 2 and can select the volume and backup time I want to restore from. I can't actually do a backup until I get the new drive as I don't have a large enough temporary drive.
