RN214 -- How to setup a single, different sized drive not attached to existing RAID-1
ReadyNAS RN214 - 4 Bays - version 6.10.6
My RN214 is currently configured with two 4TB drives on Raid 1 (bays #1 and #2).
I added a new 8TB drive to bay #3. If this drive could increase the storage capacity of
Raid-1, that would be acceptible. If not, I would like, if possible, to have this drive work independent of the other two drives on Raid 1. Is that doable?
Here's what I see on my System > Volume page: (see attached file).
Thank you for your time and assistance!

It looks like you are already in FlexRAID (which is good - if you were running XRAID you'd have a 3x4TB RAID-5 volume, with half of disk 3 going unused.
If you select disk 3 in the center pane, you should be able to create a jbod volume on it. Page 36 of the software manual outlines the procedure: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/READYNAS_OS_6_SM_EN.pdf
I don't recommend volume encryption btw, buf of course that is a topic where people here have different views.
