RN21400 - Keeps jumping back to the route share.
My Ready NAS214 keeps jumping back to the Base Shares. I have 12 Shares setup.
As an example, when I open
"Pictures" - "Holidays" - "Cycling" - "Ireland" .
(Where "Pictures" is the Share & Holidays is a folder within Pictures - Cycling & Ireland are nested folders within Holidays)
Pictures:/Holidays/Cycling/Ireland
I get perhaps 10 to 30 seconds of accessing the files before the screen returns to the "Pictures" folder. (That being the name of the base share)
Very frustrating..!!!
All shares do the same, sometimes I may get almost a minute, but then it reverts back to whatever the Base share that I started from was.
I am running Win7 Professional 32 bit on a Panasonic CF-53 Toughbook
(i5 8Gb Ram - 3.17Gb usable)
The network is a Netcomm N900 Dual Band Gigabit Modem/Router,
Readynas Duo (RND 2000), and the newer Ready Nas 214.
Anyone had a similar issue..??
Cheers
Rob

I have installed an old router as a switch between the 2 NAS units & the curently in use Router.
Photos are most definately loadink much quicker..!!
So far - I havent had it bounce back to the route folder/share.
Fingers crossed its an issue with the router ports.
I will keep an eye on it over the next couple of days.
That's good news!
If it holds up, then perhaps get a real switch for the long-term solution. If your router is supplied by your ISP, you could also try getting a replacement from them.

I've never seen this - what protocol are you using with the NAS? SMB/Windows File Explorer, or something else?
I'm wondering because your path name isn't correct for Windows File Explorer. It should be \\nas-name\Pictures\Holidays\Cycling\Ireland

Windows File Explorer.Ok. That means that you aren't using the path names that are in your first post.
- What firmware are you running on the RN214? What apps are installed?
- Do you have both ethernet ports connected to your router, or only one? If both, what aggregation mode are you using?
- Have you checked the disk health? You can download the log zip file from the web ui, and look at disk_info.log. Also look in network_settings.log at the ethernet stats/errors.
