RN3220 unable to boot after power outage
I have a ReadyNAS RN3220 that is unable to boot after a power outage. There is no output on the console connection and I cannot get in to the boot menu with or without disks. The ReadyNAS does not sh...
Was the NAS protected by an UPS and shut itself down gracefully when the UPS ran down, or did it shut down suddenly? If the former, then you problem was most likely not cause by "a power outage", but simply by a power cycle. If the latter, it could be that the OS on the drives is bad rather than the hardware. Whichever the case, try booting it with no drives and see if RAIDar shows it with a "no disks" status.
Hi Sandshark, the NAS was protected by a line-interactive UPS but the UPS was not setup to automatically shutdown the NAS so it shut down suddenly. I have tried booting with no drives but the NAS does not show up in RAIDar and does not allow me to enter the boot menu or perform USB recovery. The power LED flashes green but nothing else.

IMHO if that resulted in hardware damage, it should be covered by the warranty. You might try support again (and ask to speak to supervisors, etc if necessary).
It coyuld still be corruption of the internal flash, but a hardware problem does seem more likely. I'm not sure how Netgear could determine itt's from a power interruption unless you told them. From a voltage spike that proceeded one, maybe, but an inline active UPS should take care of that. Other than a voltage spike, the NAS should survive a power outage, so I agree it should be covered under warranty.
