They were $120 shipped just a few days ago.... wait for them to go on sale again... I think I'm waiting for $100 shipped. I need to buy 3 more... - MardeAspirantI received 2 drives yesterday and 2 drives today. Each pair had different firmware (bummer). After contacting Seagate, here is what firmware I have and what firmware I will be upgrading to;
FW: SD17 –going to- SD1A
FW: CC1G –going to- CC1H
1st batch came from newegg TN warehouse
2nd batch came from newegg CA warehouse - phrozenAspirant

How did you get your updated firmware? I contacted Seagate a week ago for it and still haven't heard back!!! - chirpaLuminaryCan you share the CC1H firmware? My drives have CC1G on them.

Yes please, share - MardeAspirantHow I got the firmware? I called Seagate and they semt me an email with a CODE. Went to a seagate webpage, entered code, then did download. I did it 2 days in a row, because the second set of drives had different fw. I now have both sets of new fw here on my PC. Sure, I can share the fw... I need to go setup an acct with a file sharing service, so I can upload it, anyone have a recommended site?
I have not flashed mine yet, will do that tomorrow, when my 5th drive arrives. You guys need to know the process is kinda like >> Burn files to a CD/DVD >> Power down your PC >> Disconnect all hard-drives (HDDs) from your desktop except the HDD to be flashed >> Boot up PC from the boot disc CD/DVD >> Hope your system detects the HDD >> Flash HDD. - chirpaLuminaryIf they aren't too large of archives, you can try uploading them here: http://stashbox.org/
- MardeAspirantHere you go guys. The files are at Wikisend, a free service where the files should be available for the next 7 days only. After you download, check to see that your zip file is the same size as what I have here on my win-xp box : select file -> right click -> properties
CC1H zip file size 2,911,767 bytes : size on disk 2,912,256 bytes
SD1A zip file size 2,904,563 bytes : size on disk 2,908,160 bytes
wikisend.com: ST31500341AS_CC1H.zip
stashbox.org: ST31500341AS_CC1H.zip
wikisend.com: ST31500341AS_SD1A.zip
stashbox.org: ST31500341AS_SD1A.zip - xsnrgAspirantDoes anyone know if these can be flashed from a USB enclosure? I don't have a desktop PC any longer, just the NAS.
- chirpaLuminary
Won't work, needs to be directly connected to a SATA port.xsnrg wrote: Does anyone know if these can be flashed from a USB enclosure? I don't have a desktop PC any longer, just the NAS.
