Setup Grayed out/Installation Fail

I tried this and got the error: "The MAC address is incorrect" ... (after having checked and trying the MAC address 4 times)
So I reset the ReadyNAS again, and it didn't show up in RAIDar this time.
Can I plug it in to my mac directly?
