Setup Volume Raid 6 with encryption - Unable to connect ???
I just added a 4th 3TB ( all approved same WD HD's )
--- BEFORE doing anything I made sure the firmware was UTD.
The ReadyNAS took 2 days syncing it, then I rebooted.
A few hours ago I DELETED the single Volume & SETUP a New ENCRYPTED Volume, Raid 6.
it stated it would take 86 hours to complete.
.
After I closed the browser, I'm no longer able to access the ReadyNAS..
Firefox gives me " Unable to connect " statement
Chrome goes straight to Yahoo Search
Safari gives me a " Can not connect to server "
The 4 LED bay lights are lit,
The activity light is flashing like it's doing something.
The unit is Humming, like it's working.
..
Genie shows me a http://192.168.1.26/ & 192.168.1.33 address, both wont connect.
Is this what should be happening ?
Should I wait it out?
===========================
Also, The USB Key.. I've read Netgears responce on requiring the key attached to boot..
Netgear should allow us access options for the KEY.
It looks like the ReadyNAS could boot completely up, and write a file
on the computers, cell phones the user approves.
Also, Let the key be required when a computer does not have access.
and give us a key code that we can type in PLUS username, PW, & whatever else.
Give us multiple security options. I JUST Don't want someone coming over my network
peeking around. However, I want my Cell, Laptop (username), & Desktop(username) to have full access.
I am able to reproduce your issue, and we've got a fix ready. If you update to 6.6.0, then enable Secure Diagnostics Mode and PM me the 5-digit number, I can get your system patched.

What status is RAIDar giving you for the NAS.

I hope you realize that encrypting the RAID volume has nothing to do with network security. It operates purely locally in the NAS. The data read from the volume is decrypted immediately by NAS, similarly for writes.

RAIDar states:
RAIDar could not find any NETGEAR storage on your network. Check that your storage device is powered on and connect correctly. for more help . . . .
.
I figured that since (if) ReadyNAS was busy & I destroyed the only volume, there was nothing for RAIDar to find

RAIDar will normally find the ReadyNAS if it is powered, even if there are no disks installed.
Does the NAS respond to ping?
