Hi Tech-tonic, this issue relates to selecting an option in the NETGEAR UI during backup.
Try using following commands to make yourself owner and give full permissions to just yourself.
chown -R <user> <backup share>
chgrp -R egnyte-admins <backup share>
chmod -R 700 <backup share>
