Share Acting Like It's Read Only

OK, I have odd behavior coming from my wife's share. If she opens a file from an existing folder, it opens as read only. When I get the file info window, it says that I have custom access (don't even know what that means), but in the little window it says that I have read-write. What's weird is that I can create a new directory, in her share, and save files no problem. What I also do not understand is that the files in my share have the same custom access yet I do not have this read only access issue.

Any ideas?
