Share Dissappearing after Backup
Hi,
I'm trying to backup a number of USB drives using my ReadyNAS. I created a share called "Backup" and within that share created a folder for each hard disk I want to back up.
I went into Backup through the dashboard and created a backup job to go form front usb to the share/folder for a particular drive.
When the job is finished the share seems to have dissappeared and no longer available. When I go into the shares it's gone and also when I go into the backup job it says folder not longer exits.
The strange thing is that the space available has reduced. I have tried rebooting and running a volume scan on reboot and no luck still.
When I check the logs for the back up job it says " An error occurred during the log retrieval process."
Any ideas?
Thanks

- AmidalaNETGEAR ExpertIn share tab, according to the normal operation, user cannot add a new share folder which name is "backup". Because NAS has the same share name folder. System will pop-up dialog :" Share already exists."
So I wonder how to add this share folder ? Please give me more detailed infomation. - crookesaAspirantThanks for the reply. I see there is Share there called Backup now so I may have been mistaken then with what I called mine now. But either way the share I created is gone. All I have listed is backup, media & readydrop.
Within my backup share I have Network Trash Folder and Temporary Items but these are both empty. My usage is still showing less data since the backup so it seems it's stored it somewhere? - crookesaAspirantTried creating a share called "USB_Backup" but got the error below.
As you can also see there's no share called USB_Backup on the NAS.
Any ideas how to show the share again or delete it so I can start over? - crookesaAspirant

Any idea how to find the data I copied into that folder as it's hiding and can't seem to find that data before I start over again? - AmidalaNETGEAR ExpertShare name (USB_*) is reserved, so user could not add this share name. But user could add share name(usb*).
- AmidalaNETGEAR ExpertIf you want to check the hidden folder's data(such as : .readydrop), you can via SMB or double click this share.
BTW, you can check the data by add on(EnableRootSSH).
