Since Google Drive is enable, Disk spin-down does not work anymore

Hello,

 

Since Google Drive sync is enabled on my readynas (RN314), the spin-down does not work anymore.
After disable the sync, the spin-down is working again

Did you experiment that ?

the problem seems the same with dropbox sync.

    The reponse from Netgear support team !

    I just got a return from our engineers.
Unfortunately the spin-down is not meant to be used with a cloud application.
This one uses a service that will constantly check for updates.
It may be put in the future an option to create a programming, but for now it is not yet planned.

    It does appear that there is somewhat conflict between the Google Drive and Disk spindown on your NAS. I have tried to simulate the concern in our laboratory and I did not encounter the problem, I was able to enable both feature at the same time. What firmware is your NAS running at? Have you tried reflashing or upgrading the firmware?

      Have you tried reflashing the firmware? You may also want to try the beta firmware 6.8.1 or 6.9.0 and check if it will make any difference. I would recommend to have a back of the data save on the NAS before further troubleshooting.

        I believe you have an option to roll back to the latest official firmware version if in case the beta firmware did not address the concern.
