Strange performance results with my ReadyNAS Pro 6

I've just bought a Pro 6 to replace my NV+ and for now there are 4xBarracuda in it.
I've done some bench in CIFS after reading this subject:
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=6421

on 2 different computers, without firewall, and even directly on the NAS without the router. Each time I get this kind of result, write rate=~(read rate/2)...
With Bonnie extension I get ~170MB, jumbo frames are enabled (9000), my router is a WNDR3700, I'm using Cat6 STP cables, I've no SMART error... So I don't really understand where is the problem ?!

Any idea or suggestion ?

I don't think your router supports jumbo frames. You can confirm by pinging the NAS from the PC:

run cmd (by typing cmd in the windows search bar), and enter

    ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -f -l 8000

where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the pro.

If you see "packet needs to be fragmented but DF set" then you can't use jumbo frames.
  • Hi Stephen,

I don't have any packet's fragmentation, and I've already verified on the NAS and on my computers that jumbo frames were taken into account.
Furthermore, I get the same results with a direct connection on the NAS without the router between them (in static IP).
So I really don't understand these results :-/...
