Trying to get my backup software to access all home folders
Hi All
I am trying to setup CloudBerry backup to backup my NAS to Google Drive. it seems like a fairly good bit of software but I am having some issues getting it to backup home folders.
I have 2 users on my NAS - Giles and Linzi. It seems that I can either backup one or the other but not both.
I can set the windows account that the backup process runs under so if I use the Giles account I can backup the Giles share, if I use the Linzi account I can backup the Linzi share.
There is an option for setting Network Credentials for each share but this seems to have little or no effect.
So - how can I setup my NAS so that both home folders are accessible with one account - for example so that I can access Giles and Linzi from my Giles windows account.
Many Thanks

- vandermerweMasterHave you tried setting the network credentials as admin, or running the cloudberry service under administrator rights? I see that that is an option in the desktop version.
You can certainly do this by using "normal" ie not home shares, where you could setup access to both shares for the windows user that is running the backup. - EskenderNGNETGEAR Employee RetiredHello,
I believe you cannot setup the device as you proposed. In fact if you could access another user’s home share with a different user’s account it would contradict the concept of a private home share.
However, you can create a backup job on the ReadyNAS admin page that backups all home shares to a remote location.
As a last option you could try using the ReadyNAS admin account in your software. This should work however be aware in a general sense of security this is not the best option.
Bye,
