trying to setup rsync job nas to nas with path
I'm trying to setup a pull backup job from NASPRO to NASNV+. I want to backup "sharename/folder/innerfolder" to "newnasshare/innerfolder".
I've set the soource host to the IP (same subnet) of NASPRO, and the path to "sharename".
Clicking test it says ok.
Changing the source path to "sharename/folder" test gives an error.
Ok... how do I specify a source path for the sharename, a first folder, and then the inner folder name that I want to backup to local sharename folder name?
Thanks

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredCan you run a test.
Create a share on each NAS, configure it the same as the shares you are having problems with and run a test backup job.
If it doesn't work try with a path that is just the sharename. - tenneyAspirantI see an additional error message that might help (not me, though):
rsync: change_dir "/AppStore" (in volumename) failed: No such file or directory (2)
That directory is there and has things in it. I set the source path to: volumename/AppStore - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredPerhaps reboot and try running the test job again.
- tenneyAspirantI'll add it to the list of things to do... but, it did reboot when I upgraded it.
- tenneyAspirantEverything I tried didn't work.
I even tried setting up the rsync backup (pull) to pull the entire share over. It copied maybe 8 or 12 folders by no files.
I tried making sure that the attributes / privs were set correctly and still no joy.
I then tried to push the one folder (<sharename>/outerfolder/desiredfolder) from the remote that I couldn't grab from (the naspro) to the newer nas (just an nv+) and this worked fine. The push of just that one inner folder over is still running and files are being copied.
Bottom line for me: rsync backup job PULL (source is nas pro, destination nv+) would not work no matter what I tried. Changing to PUSH (running on the nas pro TO the nv+ rsync backup job) seems to be running fine. I expect a dozen hours, but it's a runnin'
sheesh. at least it's copying... - tenneyAspirantI thought that I entered this reply a couple of days ago... trying again.
Nothing worked. So I inverted things and tried pushing (source the NasPro, destination the NV+). This worked (or rather IS working as it will take several days to copy a TB of data).
