'Two Raid Group
HI folks, can you help?
I have a RN316 6 x 10TB disks - all running ok in Raid 6, one Raid group
I plugged in a EDA500 expansion box , (5 x 4 TB disks)
It wanted to expand the volume. no didn't want that so I removed the EDA.
Rebooted but now I see I have two Raid groups on the 316 Raid group 1 and 2. Clicking on the drop down each Raid group uses all 6 disks. There's some difference
Volume Data
Used /Allocated 13.98/14.33
Snapshot used/allocated 1.31/2.04
Free 22.03
Raid Group 1
Data allocated 11.86
Meta data 4.07
Free 2.67
Raid group 2
Data 2.47
Metadata 0
Free 19.36
I followed the intruction to look at the drop down and choose the Raid group to delete but ther eis no "x" on the right side as the instructions say to remove it. I seem to be stuck now with two raid groups. How can I revert, with of course no data loss
The purpose of adding the EDA500 was to have a new volume on that box and use it to back up the 316.
I really want to get back to one Raid group and I'll abandon my plan to use the EDA if necessay

What firmware are you running? The NAS shouldn't have tried to expand a volume across two chassis.
You might consider contacting paid support (my.netgear.com) - assuming you are the original owner. If you purchased your NAS between 1 June 2014 and 31 May 2016 you have free lifetime chat support.

Do you have full access to the files?
Is the system still in XRAID mode or has it changed to flexraid?
