Maybe power down, remove all the current disks and insert 1 new disk. Then do the FW upgrade steps, and power down. Do a quick check, then install all the disks you want, and do another factory default.
That speeds up the FW upgrade process, and makes it easier to fall back to 4.2 with your existing disks if you decide you don't want 6.2 after all (or have trouble with the upgrade).
