uploading to NAS over gigabit LAN speeds good?

replaced a bad ethernet cable, and connected direct from laptop (wired nic) to NAS, configured static ip on both. enabled jumbo frames on both nic
i am now getting up to 10MB/s upload to NAS using filezille sftp ssh
do you think i should still be able to get about 30-40 MB/s ? I can't think what else I could do.
