VLAN no good
I have a Readynas Pro 6 V2, after setting one of the NIC (eth0) to VLAN it can not be accesst. I have installd Root SSH to investegate this. I can se that under /etc/network/interfaces that it have installd the NIC as a Virtual interface with my VLAN id as a Virtual NIC number...
auto eth0.200
iface eth0.200 inet static
address xx.xx.xx.xx
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway xx.xx.xx.xx
If i have understud this is how it shuld look some thing like this (This config dose work, after a network card reset)
auto vlan200
iface vlan200 inet static
address xx.xx.xx.xx
netmask 255.255.255.0
vlan-raw-device eth0
So what i worong?

- EBrown95831AspirantThe issue is likely being caused by a misconfig on the connected switch: you will want to either assign the port a PVID corresponding to the vlan you set on the Readynas or tag traffic going out to the readynas with that same vlan. You will then have to make sure your pc traffic is being tagged with that same vlan so you can access the nas

Yes in basic your right, but the problem is not on the switch its the Readynas pro who is doing wrong.... The first config is what Readynas GUI dose and the second config is taken from Linux forum and it work Manuel on my Readynas pro 6...
So Howe can I make this right? - GhosthackAspirantBump
- Nas_t1AspirantI am having the same problem.
I am trying to connect from a Netgear GS724T that is trunked with vlan's 1-10 on port 24.
These ports are tagged except from vlan 10 (Default Vlan)
The ready nas is in a Tagged port on Vlan3 (10.1.3.66 is the ip address of the Readynas)
Intervlan routing is working on the whole system, I just can't get to the Readynas.
Everytime I select Vlan checkbox on the readynas and assign it vlan 3.
The readynas is unable to be connected to at all.
Without the VLAN enabled box, I can see it from an ip scan, but still can't connect to it.
All other devices on the network are working properly.
In this configuration is there a way to connect to it either by not using vlan tag or not using tag from the switch?
Should the port be tagged or not, something is amiss with the vlan check box on the Readynas.
I can't even connect to the Readynas froman untagged member of vlan 3 - PyrexAspirantI am having the same issue! VLANS do not work on my ReadyNAS 2100.

It's been quite a while now and no answers. I really need to figure out what is going on or I will have to revert to another storage system. My data has been down for weeks. =(
Please anyone? - StephenBGuru - Experienced Userdid you try support.netgear.com?
