Volume Data Degraded

Hello, Since i replaced the Faulty HDD NASbox displaying Status is Degraded. this issue first time come after replaced the HDD.

  • One aspect is that the NAS won't add a formatted disk to the array.  So if your disk was formatted (for instance in Windows), you need to select it on the volume tab, and then format it again.  If that succeeds, the disk should be added to the array.

Another possibility of course is that the disk is bad.  Personally I test my disks in a Windows PC with vendor tools (seatools for seagate, lifeguard for western digital) before I put them in the NAS.  I run the extended read test, and follow that up with the full erase/write test.
