Warranty for ReadyNas NV+
Hello, I have a Netgear ReadyNas NV+ purchased in December 2009 with a dead power supply. I entered a case with Netgear support, and they are telling me that the unit is not under warranty - however ...

I purchased my NV+ from Amazon in May 2010. Netgear's registration info says my warranty expires in May 2013 (3 year). I don't know how to reconcile the Amazon page (e.g., if it was/is incorrect, what recourse do you have).
Are you just looking to get your data off? If you have a backup, then a new NAS is probably the best way to go.
You can buy a replacement supply for around $120, though they are getting quite hard to find. Sears (of all places) seems to have it in stock

Or bite the bullet and take the extended warranty. Then you likely get an RMA'd unit, so even if there is other stuff that failed when the supply blew out you'd be ok.
