WebDAV in W7? Digest Authentication? Other options?

Sadly, if I had the user privileges to change registry values on machines where I needed access, then I might as well install ReadyNAS Remote. On most of the machines in question, I won't. Just as you wouldn't in almost any Windows AD/GPO controlled environment that took security seriously.
I just wish I'd known all this before I bought the thing. I knew enough to look for an appliance that offered SSL WebDAV folders sharing, but I never expected it to be unconfigurable or broken for Windows7.
In any case, I sincerely appreciate your time and advice - thankyou.
Tell me, does the plug-in you mention completely replace the user/folder creation side of things too, as well as the web file-hosting side of the Ultra2, or is it simply a prettier web-based file explorer that sits on top of what FrontView creates at the core?
