WebDAV in W7? Digest Authentication? Other options?

So basically, if I'm going to have to put in that much work, I might just as well do it on a virtual server that's hosted in a 99.99% uptime datacenter on a decent pipe. Or just live without WebDAV and stick with DropBox for free.
It's a shame the product doesn't work as advertised, and I can't believe they're leaving such useful functionality unpatched. RMA request methinks.
