Enable WiFi 6 - 6 GHz Only Network (6GHz MIMO compatible) Throttle back WiFi 6E for compatibility
NB: Could not select the correct model number from list
For those of us that have seemingly made the error, of buying the...
Netgear Orbi AX11000 RBRE960 Quad-band mesh WiFi 6E system, (could we have a longer name next time please?)
After discovering that the multiple 6GHz compatible MIMO Apple products I have will NOT in fact connect to the MU MIMO 6GHz Quad Band Router as its actually... WiFi6E not Wifi6 on the 6GHx and it is not backwardly compatable, is there any possibility of adding a firmware tickbox that 'throttles back' the Orbis' 6GHz WiFi 6E to a more compatible 6GHz band, until such time as there are a larger number of 6E devices.
Apple iPhone 13ProMax, AppleTV4K (2021) and iPad Pro (2021) that are capable of 6GHz dont appear to have a purchasable Netgear product to take advantage of it.
At the very least a simple WiFi Extender that creates a 6GHz Band/channel plugged into one of the multiple Ethernet ports of the Orbi Router/Satelites that could then communicate via the WiFi/Ethernet backhaul.
Add to the problem the fact that 3x3/4x4 MIMO designs require 2-4 LTCCs when supplies are already tight of them and the lack of 6E devices could severly damage sales of the Orbi Quad...
Please...

You're confusing a couple things.
1. Wifi 6 is just the next verison of wifi's label. It was called wireless AX but they decided to move to a numbered system. Its not 6ghz. . Its 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
2. 6E is the inclusion of 6ghz bandwidth.
3. None of apples devices have 6ghz or wifi 6E. They do have wifi 6 but wifi 6 is only 2.4/5ghz.
4. You can't "throttle back" 6ghz because its a hardware difference.

I have to admit to confusion yes...
I bought what turned out to be a faulty Orbi 850 and hurridly replaced it with a 960, obviously geting mixed up with WiFi 6 and 6GHz.
Yes I could of/should of put ax / axe
Several articles over time have mentioned 6GHz being in the iPhone 13, but as you stated, dissapointingly it appears that it is just WiFi6 5GHz
I did though read the following article that states 6E is the same hardware just new standards though.
LTCC Shortages

It is pretty darned close to the exact same hardware but because of fcc requirements the broadcast rules are different with 6ghz.
Its why the RAXE500 was so quick out the gate because its basically a RAX200 that they used the 3rd band for 6ghz.
The setup for the 6ghz is just slightly different which is why it isn't just a simple firmware change.
