Please make a update for the Orbi RBR20, so we can separate the 2.4ghz and 5ghz SSID's.
I want to chose on each device wich network it will be connected to. So the 5.0ghz network will be clean for high priority.

Yes, please make this change! Or even the ability to assign a device to a certain band using the app or web interface.

I just purchased an Orbi RBR20 System. I work from home and have a retiree sharing bandwith with my office computers, their iPad and their smart TV. I am thinking potentially about returning the system where I cannot designate devices to 2.4GHZ or 5GHZ.

I also have a situation where unless I can make some of my devices explicitly connected to 2.4Ghz network, those cannot become part of my smart home network. How do we do it?

I want this too.

Same for RBR50 please

Agreed, this should be an option. Users should be able to set SSID for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi bands. If they want the same SSID for both bands, they can do so.

Need to separate ssids. Cannot not change and add new WiFi cameras to security system with current firmware. Will be more cost effective to change WiFi routers. Are there any plans to add this former capability in a new release?

RBK50 also needs, 2.4 g signal is good, but it's too hard, the remote will automatically connect to 2.4 g at only 5M / s if you can connect to 5g at 25M / s, so why not let the user choose which connection to connect to? ?? In addition, I have already solved the split ssid by Telent in the old version, why should the background give me an automatic update? Shouldn't I be in charge of updates? ? - jetter2Tutor
100% agree, we should be able to split our SSIDs based on being on 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
I would also like the ability to select 20/40/80MHZ channels for the backhaul channel width, as well as the center frequency!

Hi I'm new to the Orbi world, coming from Velop. My system is 1 RBR50 and 2 RBS50 units with wired backhaul.
So far so good, except for many 5Ghz devices connecting to 2.4Ghz, as well as some devices connecting to nodes further away.
I am also a tech by trade and install many Mesh systems. I find Orbi to be very good with many enhancements over other brands, but also missing some features as well.
Resurecting this thread, Velop offers separation of 2.4 a 5Ghz. This way all 5Ghz nodes always properly connect. Implementing this on the Orbi would be an improvement, especially in the business world. Those who wish to separate can, and those who do not wish to don't have to.
The other issue is several wireless devices connect to nodes further away, rather than the closest one, while others connect to the closest node. I see, when searching for WIFI on some devices, all 3 SSID nodes show up, while on other devices it only show 1 SSID. Trial and error can get me to be able to connect the device to the closest node, on the devices that show all 3 SSID. But it's hit and miss on the devices that show only 1 SSID. I have not been able to resolve this issue. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
