cifs/smb backup jobs not working on FW 6.9.0
I make a new discussion for this problem as it seems to be another problem that has geek_Alex in thread Very slow copy with SMB which was solved.
After installing FW 6.9.0
All my backup jobs which download or upload data from/to windows share seem to be EXTREME SLOW, in fact they dont end correctly and stay freeze in state "In progress"
There was no problem on FW 6.8.1:

On FW 6.9.0 that job is running for hours a still does not complete.
Client or source of shares are 2 diferrent Windows 7 PC's.
full settings for backup job:
Windows/NAS (Timestamp) -> share
Source:
Type: remote - Windows/NAS (Timestamp)
host: defined as IP
path: share On PC
(test connection is OK)
Destination:
share on NAS
Schedule
every 24 hours 0:05-0:05
Options
scheduke full backup: first time
On completion send: status and errors
Remove selected contents of backup destination before backup - NOT selected
After backup is complete, change ownership of files.... - NOT selected
same thing happening (not wokring) for jobs which are:
share -> remote: Windows/NAS (Timestamp)
I tested it to or from shares from/to PC's with Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows swerver 2003. All the same.
if it is Full or Incremental job - the same.
i tried to create a new jobs - no difference between new and old.
i tested with various settings from SMB plus - no difference.
tried disable SMB3 encryption - no dofference.
It seem that files are copied with accurate speed (about the same time as with FW 6.8.1) but then job does not end and hang in state "In progress".
all other jobs i have (Rsync) running OK.
i tried to downgrade RN204 to FW 6.8.1 - all jobs are Fine an running corectly on FW 6.8.1.
On RN104 (still FW 6.9.0) problem with smb/cifs jobs remain.
Can someone to test this issue and help?

I can confirm this bug. Hanging, share with 2 MB start transfering and copies files , but not terminating. Waiting now for more than 1 hour. Aborting.

Yep, totally similar to this other thread. In my case Backup Jobs from NAS to External USB disk are still OK after 6.8.1 -> 6.9.0, 6.9.0 seems to have affected Backup Jobs having a CIF Share as Source on a Windows host and a CIFS Share as Destination on the NAS only.
Definitely a bug...

if destination is cifs share on Windows, than it is also affected.

ReadyNAS 314 4bay 6.9.0 same issue backup in progress hang.
Back from ReadyNAS to another NAS via Cifs

rdylab: check this other whole thread to understand if your NAS is currently running on ReadyNAS OS 6.9.0 + 4th Hot Fix patch (indeed we all wrote about how 6.9.0+4 fixed our issues). Clearly if your issue is equal to (now solved) ours.
