Netgear WAX214 Speed Issue

2.4ghz is a very slow network and sensitive to interference. if you have a lot of 2.4ghz signal in your area, 50mbps might be all you get from it. You can try changing the channel that the 2.4ghz is on in case there's interference. That can help optimize speeds a bit. Have you tried that?
You can also set it to 40hz wide channels.
What speed do you think you'll get from it?
Thank you for the reply. I was expecting at least a few hundred Mb/s for the 2.4Ghz. I was used to seeing that on my Xfinity gateway. Today I unplugged the access point and ran speed test again with just the Xfinity gateway and got a slow speed still. Not sure what happened, seems my Ring cameras are pulling a lot of bandwidth on the 2.4 in general.... Unfortunately the 5Ghz does not work with older Ring cameras, so I was trying to give the cameras their own dedicated 2.4 network.
You won't hit "a few hundred mbps" over 2.4ghz. Not sure how you were getting it before but I'd imagine you were probably connected to the 5ghz and didn't realize it.
2.4ghz is a much much slower network than 5ghz (whole reason 5/6ghz are used). Plus its sensitive to interference.
If you're in an area with a bunch of 2.4ghz signals my experience has been that wireless AC will get around 30-40mbps on average and on AX around 60-80mbps. You can certainly hit higher speeds but it isn't sustained speeds. (I've hit upwards of 150mbps but that was for very brief periods)
Again, that's just been my experience from testing devices in an area with a bunch of 2.4ghz signals.
How many ring camera's do you have?
Have you tried to put a few on the primary router and a few on the access point?

I have 7 cameras and have tried splitting them, but the wifi signal strength was weak on the WAX214, so I switched back. When I saw the low speed on the AP, I assumed it was not working correctly. But I will try splitting them again and checking signal strength.
