wax214 AP - slow speeds

We just got a new broadband line in which should provide around 900-1000Mb/s throughput.

I also have the ISP's router's WiFi active to compare speeds.

ISP's router using WiFi I am getting 900Mb/s download however with the WAX214v2 I am only getting around 20Mb/s download. I am no more than 5 metres away from each router.

For the purposes of testing. I turned off the ISP's router to ensure there was no issues with that, did not affect speeds.

I thought it maybe something I had done with the config so I reset it to factory settings and just change the IP and reconnected over wifi. Did not change much in terms of speeds

There is not much in terms of other networks with any strengh being picked up at my house

What can I check/change to improve these speeds? Seems I have a faulty device but no idea how to figure this one out.

Thanks

    Hi WhateverDude,

    Welcome to the community!

Is the AP locally or Insight managed? Are you connecting to the 2.4GHz or 5GHz? Have you tried using other WiFi channels?

    Kind regards,

      Hey Brian,

Thanks for the reply. Before restting I separated 5GHz and 2.4GHz and connected to each individually and got similar soeeds. I played with channels for the 2.4GHz but not 5GHz but similar speeds.

Currently it's all defaults, think it is auto selecting frequency and channels? Again, similar speeds.

What I did find interesting was upload and download soeeds are similar. Like it's only able to get to around 20Mb/s.

      Thanks

      Nathan

Just locally managed and installed in my home, connected with a PoE injector. I first had it on my old cisco PoE swktxh and wondered if using a PoE injector would help but did not change much.

Currently the AP is connected directly to the ISP's router via a PoE injector.

        Hi WhateverDude,

Thanks for responding. Were these new tests done with your main (Router) SSID disabled? Does all WiFi clients have the same behavior?

        Kind regards,
