Does anyone know how to manually run a firmware update for this product?

ISP is responsible for pushing FW updates to C and CM series modems.

What firmware version is yours on?
You can check your version with the version your ISP currently supports.
But @FURRYe38 is correct, the end user can't update the device. Its pushed from the ISP as part of its provisioning for the device.

Are you experiencing problems with the modem? If so, give us some details on what your having problems with.
If we can determine or help solve the problem, then this would be first step.
Otherwise you'll need to contact your ISP and ask them about updating the modems FW. We can not do anything to effect this nor can users.

I'm supposed to have speeds around 100 mbps and it's consistently around 20-30 mbps.

are you testing hardwired?
Over wireless? And if wireless, what band are you testing on?
Do you have a screen snip of the cable connections page (shows the upstream/downstream info) and the event logs?

My ISP says since I bought my own router and did not rent from them that to update my firmware I will need to contact "the manufacturer"....Netgear. :>) Does anyone have the download or what is needed to update the firmware? I don't think I'm going to get anywhere with Mediacom (ISP). Current FW version is V1.01.13. Thank you much!

There is NO WAY for an end user to update combo devices. Its built into the provisioning that the ISP sends to the device.
so maybe that screen snip of the cable connections page and event log can help with figuring out the stability issues.
