Best App to Play Files on USB on CAX80

I have pictures and videos on a USB drive plugged in to my CAX80 modem/router.  I want the best way to to play those on my big tv that has a Google TV.  I currently use VLC which sees the files on the network.  I am curious what most people have used and is it possible to use this as a Plex server?  Thanks.

The CAX80 doesn't have a built in plex server. 

Plex and Jellyfin both do a great job of media serving but you do need a host computer to run them off. 

You're a bit limited in that its more about the apps for your tv than it is anything else. 

The router doesn't have the option to have stuff installed on it so its anything that'll read the dlna content the router does provide. 

And that does come down to your TV. Unless you do setup a media server (pretty easy to do, there's plenty of guides online)
