C7000v2 disconnecting all wifi bands at random times
I've had this router since june 2019, use comcast and about a month ago we started losing connection every now and then, both the 2.4 ghz and the 5 ghz will go down and the only thing that fixes it is to unplug it or do a reset manually (netgear genie auto restart never works). Since the time of the issues I have changed the MTU size to the correct size (1498), set and deleted a port forwarding to avoid a strict NAT for gaming reasons and replaced the cable coming out of the wall to the modem issues have still persisted. Just before the issues started I set up a 2.4 ghz extender which works when the internet is working fine and my significat other started working from home. 5-8 of my upstream channels are not locked and I have no idea why. Here are my cable connections table, if any other information is needed please ask. Will I need to call in a tech from Comcast to check/replace the cables in the walls?

Re: C7000v2 disconnecting all wifi bands at random times
Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Re: C7000v2 disconnecting all wifi bands at random times
Would I be able to check the lack of splitters without opening any walls? best I can do is take off a face plate and chaeck there. I replaced the cable with an amazonBasics CL2-Rated Coaxial TV Antenna Cable its RG6, but the rest is however old the rest of the cables are.
I live in an apartment so there are a usually 8 or so other wifi networks in the immediate area, I am on a lesser used channel. ill call comcast and get them to run the line.

Re: C7000v2 disconnecting all wifi bands at random times
Try turning down the power output of the modems radios as well. This may help with some interferences with nieghboring wifi and congestion. Maybe found under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Re: C7000v2 disconnecting all wifi bands at random times
We are in the same boat. Comcast tech checked my line and denied that there wasnt anything wrong on their end. I didnt buy it. He told me that my modem/router is overheating. i requested their own modem to test and will be arriving Sunday. I will let you know what happens. Had this router since October. Never had a problem with connection when i had their modem. This problem happened since this Covid started. They did maintenance on their server and was fine for a week and its disconnecting again. Following your post also since I need some answers. I hope someone can help us here.
