Purchased this Modem in January. Have had nothing but connection issues with this modem. Called and have had two case numbers assigned to this problem. Nothing resolved. Using Midcontinent Communications (MIDCO). The issue is that I get increasingly slow results on web requests, sometimes to the point where I get a timeout from some sites. I have to power cycle the modem at least once a day if not more just to get websites to load.
I have replaced the switch and wireless modems with new Netgear hardware but have the issue on both wired and wireless connections.
I have recently had the cable company come out and replace every connection and check their lines to ensure that is not the problem.
I am at the point of throwing the modem out and purchasing a different brand.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Antinode,
Thank you for the suggestion. As you can see, I am a novice at this.
I ran a new cat 5e line from the cable modem to the R7000, I came out of the R7000 with a line that now goes to the switch. I will try this and see if it resolves the problem. My WiFi router is about 40' from the modem.
I believe this is what you wanted me to try, let me know if I am incorrect.
Thanks you again for the replies. Hoepfully this will be the answer.

Re: CM1000-100NAS
Is this being experinence while directly connected to the modem with a PC or do you have a wifi router in betwen the modem and PC?

Re: CM1000-100NAS
CM1000-100NAS to GS116 Netgear switch and switch to Windows 7 computer. Also one line out of switch to R7000-100NAS WiFi router. The computer is Cat5e from switch to desktop.

That could explain much. Try: CM1000 --- R7000 --- GS116.

If you really connected a switch to your modem, with multiple devices
connected to the switch, then I wouldn't expect any brand to work.

What could go wrong? (Note, however, that "to the R7000" is
ambiguous, because there are two types of Ethernet connectors there,
WAN/Internet and LAN. It might be obvious that the line from the modem
goes to the WAN/Internet port of the R7000, and anything else goes to
one of the LAN ports of the R7000. But more precision than either of us
used to describe these connections would be safer.)

You should be good up to about 100m.
The key concept here is that your ISP is, most likely, expecting to
see one device connected to your modem, not more. Connecting a network
switch to it allows you to connect more, which will interfere with each
other (contending to get your one public IP address). One major purpose
of a NAT router (like an R7000) is to allow multiple devices to share
that one public IP address. But the NAT router needs to be that one
device connected to your modem.

Antinode,
It's been a couple of days now without any issues. I sincerely appreciate the help. Thanks for renewing my decision to purchase netgear products!

Glad to hear it.

No matter how bad their products may be, user errors can always make
things worse.
