I need help Best buy sold me the NETGEAR - AC1750 Dual-Band Router with DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - Multi for my hughesnet serivice. Both netgear and hughesnet are making me go back and forth between the two say you need to call them to help you install it. going to scream at the next one i talk to if i hear that again! the issue is that hughes net router has 2 cables comimg in the house and the NETGEAR - AC1750 Dual-Band Router Cable Modem has only 1 connection. But Netgear tech told me it works with the satillete system . So can anyone tell me if I spent $180.00 for nothing. Thank you in advance

  • I don't know where you live but I just bought that same router. I am having Spectrum Install my internet tomorrow and bought the same router at Best Buy. I don't know when you bought it but it is on sale for $109.00 plus tax if you have a sales tax. I would try and go to Hugesnet website and see which routers are compatible with their router.

  • While it should physically work since they connect via coax cable, whether or not they allow you to bring your own modem is a policy question. TWC/Spectrum has a list of approved modems on their site. If Hughes does not, you will need to contact them to ask their policy. Good luck

Thanks  for the help but I finally was giving the correct  answer from a zest buy rep online and it will not work with hughesnet. I have to get a modem only. The problem I have is I bought it in September and due to some serious family health issues I am just getting back to it now. So it is past the return date and also I live 3 hours from the store I bought it from.
