I do hate to advise of the same misadventure with the CM2000 Cable modem
I do hate to advise of the same misadventure with the CM2000 Cable modem. I've analyzed and confirmed safe operation of the surge strip I have connected to only the modem using a multi-meter and then a standard lamp. I suspect a power surge through the Coaxial cable would likely pose more of a risk than juice from the other direction with my configuration but without confirmation in as to if there was an attempted and failed firmware update we'll likely never know. It's bricked, to say the least I am only observing the flashing white lights regardless of futile attempts of pressing/holding the reset button.

You'll need to contact NG support and open a support ticket if your modem is not responding to a factory reset or trouble shooting steps:

Good Luck
