Important Security Update from NETGEAR, June 21, 2017
Hello,
On June 21, I received a message in the name of NETGEAR Security asking me to do a Security updating.
Before following the instructions and executing the urging, I want to be ABSOLUTELY sure that this message isn't a FAKE MESSAGE. I would like to enclose a screen picture of the message in question, but I can't see where to do so.
Please CONFIRM that the message is a true message from you!
Many thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Torup

Hello Torup
Yes Netgear did send a email to customers about making sure to update your firmware. If you have a cable modem you can not do this manually the firmware will be updated automatically through your ISP.

Thank you for your answer. So if I have a wireless network I can and should do it?

When I started to update the updating I found out that at a certain point I was asked to log in using the IP-address 192.168..1.1 (if I hadn't changed it). I do not recall having changed my IP-address but my notes indicate that my IP-address is 192.168.1.3. If I continue the updating will my IP-address then occur and not 192.168.1.1?
Thank you for replying!
