My daughter has Xfinity internet 1GB cable service with their gateway. Its awful and got worse when they provided their updated box. I'm trying to figure out the best way and product to move to owner supplied hardware.
I understand that modem + router gives more long term flexibility, but I will be technical support so a combo unit will be easiest to set up (?) and was looking at the NG CAX80 so it would last a few years - most of her equipment is wireless and 2.4 at that since the 5 is super flaky.
So any recent experiences with the CAX80?
and, if not that model, any recommendations?
I use Orbi but that's overkill for her needs.
