Netgear Wireless Data Cable Gateway firmware update
Netgear CG4500BD Current firmware is 1.03.03. The gui is ancient looks like it is from 2003. I want to update firmware to modern gui genie. Problem is I bought this modem from amazon and not from cox. Cox is only one that provides firmare update but I am not cox user, I have optimun. So how can I update firmware is there a zip file I could have so I can do it maually?

Re: Netgear Wireless Data Cable Gateway firmware update
Hello techfreak8
All firmware on cable modems come from the ISP you are connected to no way to manually update the firmware.

Re: Netgear Wireless Data Cable Gateway firmware update
Hello techfreak8
It is very unlikely but you can try typically what happens with firmware is Netgear sends it to the ISP and it then has to get approved by the ISP they do some changes to it and release it on there own schedule.
