I just bought a Nighthawk AX6 CAX30 because I wanted to improve my speeds at home. I use to have a Arris Modem and Nighthawk R7800 router and was getting speeds of at least 600mps consistently. Once I upgrade my and bought this new modem/router last week and installed it I have never gotten above 120mps on any device connected to it throughout the house. I only have 10 devices currently connected and my xbox series X is downloading games slower then ever. Im very dissatisfied right now as I thought upgrading to a Wifi 6 and having Gigablast internet would improve my speeds not make them worse. Can someone please help? Im ready to re connect my old router and modem and take this combo one back. When i do a speedtest in the admin settings of the netgear site it says im getting 590mps download but im only getting 4mps download speed at the same time on a xbox game im trying to download on my series X
I am using whatever default settings came on the router. When I do a speed test thru the Nighthawk App on my phone or laptop that is wireless the app saying im getting 500-600mps…. But my XBOX series X which I know can handle much higher speeds is only getting 50-90mps download speeds which is worse then what I was getting with my old modem and router….. any help would be appreciated before I return the item

Reason why is it hosts the test off the router and it rarely chooses the proper server. Hardwire a pc/laptop into your router and test it using the speedtest app or browser so you can select/change the test servers. Try several servers. …. Wireless? over 2.4ghz? over 5ghz? Details are key to helping out. Plus the xbox is similar in that it doesn't always choose the best server for speedtesting. That's why we say hardwire a pc/laptop in and test that router. You can change servers to ensure the server is appropriate. ….. any help would be appreciated before I return the item
Wired to my MacBook Air and went to Speedtest site and am getting 980mps…. When I connect my XBOX to the wireless 2.4g I am getting 100mps and when I connect it to 5g it is getting 200mps. My iPhone 12 is getting 640mps wireless the same distance away from the modem as the XBOX about 10 feet wireless and in the same room at the router/modem

Like I said, xbox isn't always choosing the fastest server. And 200mbps will do anything you need on xbox. Streaming 4k only takes roughly 30-40mbps. It could just be the xbox testing server
Wired with Comcast Xfinity my XBox Series X is getting 1.3GHZ speeds!! Laptop across the room is getting 600MB using the 5ghz speeds with Xpress VPN on, Cell phone hooked up to wifi network is getting in the 900mb range.
