Readyshare Not In Network Folder (N600-C3700v2)

I have a N600-C3700v2 Wifi Modem-Router combo, and over the course of the three years that I've had it, my Readyshare has been accessible through my Network folder in both of my networked computers.  Recently it disappeared.  However, the Readyshare drive is still accessible through both networked computers as a mapped drive under 'Computer' in Windows.

How do I get get it back in my Network folder.   In the screenshot below, it used to appear right where the red circle is, and also the same in my older Windows PC which is networked with my Windows 10 PC.

I smell a Windows issue. I find network locations love to go missing in Windows. But they are still there.

That is why I maintain a set of shortcuts that can get me to where I want to be.

    A useful one is \\readyshare

I also have "\\" links for various NAS drives.

The fun thing is that after I use the shortcut to get at the data, it magically reappears in the Network tree, but not as an icon. But I never use that as a navigatioon tool.

I see that \\readyshare already shows in your network tree. What happens when you click it? Does the icon show up?

Is \\readyshare the only other "network" location on your system?

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with ReadySHARE because my magically disappearing network locations are nowhere near it.

If you search around Microsoft areas you will find that we are not alone in losing these links.

Sadly, the behaviour changes as Windows keeps rolling out its relentless updates.

Thank you for your input.  Well, what makes me think that it's not a Windows issue is that the icon went missing out of my old Windows computer at the same time, which is networked with my Windows 10.  That's an old Vista machine.  The Readyshare icon always appeared in my Network folder in that computer also.

But yes, going to Run > \\readyshare I can get to it from both computers, and it shows up in the network tree like in the screenshot below in my Windows 10, but when I open the Network folders directly in both PC's, the icon is not there anymore.  No, after I click it, it still doesn't appear, and yes, \\readyshare is the only network location in my system.  The orange circle is where it exists as a mapped drive under 'This PC', and the same with my old machine.

As far as it being related to Windows updates, my old machine hasn't been eligible for updates for many years, and again, it disappeared out of that one also.

        "Run > \\readyshare"?

I use Explorer. (Actually, a fancier package, but the same idea.)

Well, you didn't mention that in your first message. You are a braver person than I am with a Vista machine, but I see similar behaviour on networked Windows 11 PCs. Missing cons on both ends.

And I rule out ReadySHARE because I lose icons for various network devices. Strangely, \\readyshare does not suffer from this disease.

ReadySHARE brings up vari0ous issues here. The one you raised is rare. Sadly, Netgear would love us to stop using USB storage and has removed this feature from newer routers. So troubleshooting issues is not easy.
