Secured Wi-Fi but no internet

I am having issues with my Wi-Fi and this new modem:router. I am clearly connected because my streaming is working and my tablet. But when I check the internet connection it says Secured but no internet. This is only an issue when I am working at home. I have the same issue with 2.4 or 5G. Any suggestions before I return it?

Re: Secured Wi-Fi but no internet

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Cable Modem products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Cable modems and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Be sure WPA2 and AES is set for the security mode on the modem.

Forget the SSID profiles on your devices then re-connect to the SSID.

Please use this link to the main forum product list to review and choose where to make your posts.

Thank you.

While it makes sense to ask over in the place where they talk about this device it  might have been more helpful to at least begin to answer your suggestion rather than just say "go away". In this way, you might be able to answer a few questions and get quicker answers.

There's also a chance that this is a generic question – many are. In which case it could be easily answered here, where there are many more readers.

For a start, what says "says Secured but no internet"? Something on the wifi network? A device wired to the modem/router?

You mention 2.4 GHz or 5GHz, so I assume wifi.

Is this everything that tries to connect?

Is it a PC using Windows?

Tells us what you are doing and where it goes wrong. That might prompt a few thoughts.
