Unable to access Netgear Genie webpage after about a day of uptime

I recently switched my modem to a C7000v2 and it works fine for about a day.
I'll reboot it around dinner time and I'm able to log in to the Netgear Genie management page just fine. But the next day when I return home from work, internet speeds are slow and the Genie management page simply does not load (not even to the username/password prompt)

Default gateway: 10.0.0.1

I've tried loading from wireless on my R8000 as AP

Tried loading from wireless on the C7000v2
Tried loading while hard wired to the C7000v2
Tried both http:// and https://
I've tried multiple OS/browser/device combinations
I'm able to ping the gateway
Internet is connected and working though, like I said it tends to be sluggish until I reboot the modem.
As soon as I reboot the modem loading the Genie management page is instant. No problem. But I'd like to not have to reboot daily.

Also as a side issue, all documentation tells me to use the Nighthawk app...but that app doesn't detect this modem/router.

Classic symptoms of a LAN that has two routers connected and fighting each other for control.

First, avoid the mobile application.  It has proven to be of little or no use for setup configuration or troubleshooting.  Use a real computer with a web browser, connected with an Ethernet cable to either your C7000v2 or R8000 to access the device’s user interface.  Http:// is the proper preface and if your browser complains, connect anyway.  Firefox or Edge works fine.  Work to find the LAN IP address of the device you are trying to log in to.   Use it in the address bar of your browser.

The easiest and most versatile configuration is to set your R8000 mode for wired access point operation.  Connect an Ethernet cable between your C7000v2 and the R8000 and reboot the R8000.  You will have Wi-Fi broadcasting from each device and Ethernet ports available at each device.  Since you changed out your modem, you will need to do a firmware default reset on the R8000 and configure it from scratch.  Do not load a previously saved configuration file.  Make sure the two devices are placed at least a few feet apart to avoid Wi-Fi interference.

Another configuration option is to set your C7000v2 in modem only mode.  This disables all router and Wi-Fi functions on the C7000v2.  Configure your R8000 for router mode and let it handle all LAN routing functions.  Active Ethernet ports will only be available on your R8000.  Wi-Fi will broadcast from only one device, the R8000.

Re: Unable to access Netgear Genie webpage after about a day of uptime

Okay I feel like I should clarify some things.
Yeah, I'm not at all worried about using the app honestly. That's half the reason I got a different one from the xfinity provided one (I hated the some things where controlled in an app and other things were done through a web interface)

My R8000 is already in wireless AP mode and hooked up just as pictured (found on the web management page for the R8000). I'm going to rule out using the C7000v2 as modem only do to the fact that it provides wireless in the house while the R8000 provides wireless to the garage. Also, my issue is not with the R8000, its with the fact that after a period of time, I'm simply unable to load the web interface for the C7000v2. Even if I hard wire to the modem, I'm unable to get the web UI to load until I've rebooted the modem.AP_Mode_R8000.png

In your original post you stated "... all documentation tells me to use the Nighthawk app...but that app doesn't detect this modem/router", so what mobile application are you using to communicate with your C7000v2?

What is the firmware version that is installed on your C7000v2?

What device/web browser combination are you using to try to connect to the user interface?

Re: Unable to access Netgear Genie webpage after about a day of uptime

I'm not using any app. Like I said, it doesn't connect to the modem. And I don't care to use an app. That's a side issue.

I've used all combinations of windows, linux, android with firefox, chrome, edge
It seems more like the web UI server goes down after a bit, because I still have internet connection and I can still ping the modem.

And I'm on firmware V1.03.08 which is the latest allowed by comcast

I misread your previous post about the mobile application.

For testing, have you tried setting the gateway IP address to something other than 10.0.0.1?  Maybe something simple like 10.0.0.2 that does not create a conflict.  Then use that address in your browser to access the user interface?

I'm not seeing how there is any conflict currently... 10.0.0.1 is my default gateway. It is the ip address for the C7000v2. It doesn't matter what the ip address is set to, I'm typing the correct address into the browser and the UI never loads.

I just changed the default gateway to 10.0.0.250. I'll let that run for the day until I get home from work and we'll see if anything chages.

So, sure enough I got home from work and once again I'm unable to get to the web management UI. Tried accessing through 10.0.0.250 and it just eventually times out. Reboot modem and I'm able to log in instantly.

I do not know the number or complexity of the devices you have connected to your LAN.  One of them is interfering with the IP tables on your router.  I intentionally did not use the word "conflict".  If there was a conflict you would be seeing network messages on your computer.  The test did not cost too much to run.  I presume you rebooted your router after you made the change yesterday?  One more option is to go farther away in the address space.  Use 10.0.2.1 for the router and give it a day.

You did use the word conflict. Here making it seem like the current setup of C7000v2 = 10.0.0.1 and R8000=10.0.0.2 was already some kind of conflict.

I don't think changing the gateway ip address is going to solve the issue. I could probably leave the modem on for the day with no devices connected and I bet I'd still not be able to connect to the web UI.
