Slow down when connecting router to CM700 modem
I have a CM700 modem with Comcast 600mbps cable intenet. My CM700 is connected to a TP-Link M4 Mesh System. My download speed from the router is between 85mbps - 118mbps. This is both on wifi as well as connected to the LAN port. When I connect by laptop directly to the modem, I'm getting around 718mbps. I have an old Netgear Nighthawk AC2300 router. I tried connecting it to the modem and I also got 85mbps - 118mbps in both wifi and directly connected to a port. I was thinking that the TP-Link Mesh was slowing my speeds, but it appears to be consistent when using another router. Are there any setting in the CM700 that would cause the internet speed to slow down when connected to a router, versus the speed that I get when directly connecting my laptop.

so you're getting full speed when directly connected to the modem?
Seems to indicate the modems doing its job.
I'd be looking closely at the cable from the modem to the router/routers.

I did try a few different LAN cables. I was thinking the same thing, but it still doesn't explain why my laptop gets full speed since I used the same cable to connect my laptop as I use for the routers. I did order a new CAT8 cable today to see if that would make a difference.
I wasn't sure if there were settings in the CM700 that would slow the speed when connected to a router versus connected directly to a computer.

there's not. But some devices might be a little more tolerant of a bad cable or a cat5 cable vs cat5e or > .
